Fairfax County Private Event & Corporate DJ
Providing crisp, clean audio and perfectly tailored sets for milestone celebrations, country club gatherings, and corporate events throughout Fairfax.
Always Laid Back — Always Good Vibes
As a lifelong fan of all kinds of music, my first goal is to always craft a custom-tailored soundtrack for your event that keeps the energy going.
From themed Corporate DJ events in Tysons Corner or Reston, milestone celebrations, backyard pool parties, and simple family gatherings, to country club events in Vienna, McLean, and Great Falls — rule number one is to make sure the DJ entertainment is personally tailored from the start.
After decades in the hospitality industry and years as a chef caterer in Northern Virginia and the greater DMV Metro area, I'm no stranger to the event planning business. Food and music have always been common threads that connect people from every walk of life. My love of music is just as diverse and multi-cultural as the dishes I served for years to clients across Fairfax County.
No longer planning menus, I've switched to curating custom sets and music lists that feel personal and intentional — because they are customized to every event. Just as I did in my hospitality days, I love reading a room, shaping the energy, and creating moments that people remember long after the night is over.
Whether it’s a large corporate function needing a steady emcee, or an intimate private gathering in Herndon, Chantilly, or Centreville where the music should be heard more than the DJ, my goal is simple: keep it chill and relaxed and make it feel effortless, warm, and uniquely yours. Nothing more than playing the music people love — the way they like to hear it.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you — to make the music at your next event as good as it can be. I'm a people person first — and truly enjoy the process of event planning. Let's make it something special.
- The Laid-Back DJ
This covers everything needed for a great‑sounding corporate event, country club celebration, or backyard gathering:
Additional hours are available at $175/hr. Travel fees are waived for events within the local Fairfax County service area.
My focus is on the music and sound quality. If your venue or property requires additional elements such as dance-floor lighting, subwoofers, or subtle ambient uplighting, these features are available upon request at an additional cost.
On certain occasions, depending on availability, slightly lower base rates are an option for smaller, shorter events that do not require extensive travel, song list preparation, or extra lighting and equipment features.
Perfect for acoustic performers, intimate country club gatherings, corporate showcases, and small events where clean, clear live sound matters.
Pricing typically starts around $300–$400 for a short set (up to 90 minutes), with additional time available at $100/hr. I prefer to work with acoustic acts consisting of no more than 2-3 artists playing wind or stringed instruments, and very small percussion elements. I do not offer sound reinforcement or PA services for full bands.
Strong neighborhoods are built on mutual support. I am deeply committed to giving back to the local communities where I live and work. To support organizations performing vital grassroots work, I proudly offer completely complimentary or heavily subsidized entertainment and sound production services for select high-impact local events.
We actively look to partner with functions that have a clear, immediate community backbone, including:
Because I maintain a strict cap on the number of pro-bono dates available each season to ensure our paying clients receive undivided attention, calendar slots are granted through a brief review process. If you are coordinating an initiative dedicated to lifting up our local community, please reach out via our standard inquiry form with details regarding your organization's mission, event date, and specific audio needs.
Of course I do weddings - but they're not my primary focus and I certainly approach them differently than many others.
Weddings are often huge events - even when they are small. The level of planning involved - location logistics - set-list preparation - vendor and venue coordination - and at times rare and hard-to-service locations...
Emotions run high - communications are often frequent, changing and chaotic - the choreography of everything - the varied interests of the guests, bride and groom. And the list goes on...
They are a big deal - no matter how you slice them...
For those reasons and others, it is safe to assume that a wedding would double the base rate and start at $1500 - $1600. Though - it doesn't magically double in price just because it is a wedding or bridal event. The ultimate cost is entirely within your control - and I'm happy to work with anyone to find the right budget - given the following considerations...
The load-in, set-up and tear down times are longer. The musical planning and coordination are considerably more extensive. Then you have all of the extras like lighting and photo-booths - and the time investment during pre-planning and execution can become extensive.
As a chef/caterer for many years - I am well versed in event logistics and know all too well how big these events can get.
So - again - they are not my specialty and I have no immediate plans to try to compete with well-established DJ and entertainment outfits who do specialize in bridal functions and are already "tooled up" for the work.
I am a music guy - an emcee - who can provide up-lights and other stage lighting upon request. But first and foremost - I'm focused on the musical entertainment and the dance floor.
So - to read between the lines - if you're looking for a smaller, less extravagant wedding reception without all the bells and whistles, water-slides and everything else people can dream up - let's talk.
If you really want all of the additional lighting, disco balls, photo-booths - corn-hole boards and an "entertainer" DJ for your event - there are plenty of them out there. I just happen to not be one of them.
I apologize for the less-than-positive tone. I just want to make it abundantly clear that there are already a bunch of people in the area who have made a tremendous investment in competing for and capturing the higher-end wedding business - and I have no plans to step on their toes or try to out-bid them for work.
We're just not cut from the same cloth.
If you're passionate about music, and desire to work with an experienced team-member who will help you plan a more subdued and less gilt reception - who will leave out all the hype and associated fees - give me a call. Let's see what we can put together.
Every event has a completely different signature. Whether you are coordinating a corporate function with strict brand guidelines, a specialized electronic music set, or a low-key patio gathering, both the music and the sound setups need to be taken into account.
Good music belongs in great spaces. As a courtesy to clients mapping out their events, I’ve pulled together a list of the premier corporate ballrooms, historic properties, and private social clubs across the Fairfax, Tysons, Vienna, McLean, Great Falls, Clifton, Reston, Herndon, and Mount Vernon corridors. Please note that while I love spinning at spaces like these, I hold no direct affiliation with any of these locations.
If any of these links aren't working - or you would like to add or remove a location - please let me know.

Corporate events require a balance of absolute professionalism and refined energy. I focus on creating polished, seamless audio landscapes for networking mixers, holiday parties, award galas, high-end fundraisers, and brand activations across Northern Virginia and the greater DMV metro area.
The sound must remain clean, background audio levels need to be managed precisely so guests can easily converse, and emcee announcements should be direct, clear, and completely zero-stress. To ensure your corporate function flows flawlessly without pulling focus from your itinerary, I provide comprehensive production management that addresses critical event concerns:
A true era-based event shouldn't feel like a cheap novelty playlist. I dive deep into the catalog to pull out authentic track lists from 70's disco, classic rock, 80s synth-pop, 90s hip-hop, and early-2000s club dance grooves.
Together, we can blend the massive generational hits with forgotten gold tracks to take your guests on nostalgic timeline journey.
From upscale year-end winter holiday galas to hyper-stylized Halloween private parties, the music is customized completely from scratch.
An evening full of timeless holiday hits - or a blend of music to celebrate the season - any season? We can do it!
For custom themed celebrations or deep atmospheric events, I can focus heavily on dark synth grooves, classic deep bass lines, and cinematic electronic textures rather than overplayed novelty tracks.
But - if cheese is required - I can bring cheese. I like cheese.
If you desire a dedicated electronic dance music vibe rather than a standard commercial playlist, this is where we pivot.
I can program intentional, seamless club sets tailored for private spaces, lounge environments, and upscale warehouse transformations, focusing heavily on high-intensity and deep underground grooves.
Let's work together to curate an evening filled with your favorite electronic dance music:
Bring that club feeling to a venue near you - or to your own private estate.
For that special club feel - go all the way and make it a super unique occasion with multiple DJs for your event!
Bigger is not always better when it comes to sound engineering. Bringing a massive, club-style PA system into a tight neighborhood backyard, or a small venue patio - is a recipe for a shutdown.
Most neighbors - and local police departments - do not care for low-end bass frequencies rattling their windows on a Saturday afternoon, and I respect that boundary.
In the end - it is always the bass or low-end frequencies that cause problems - even in commercial establishments - but particularly at estate events.
I know the structural difference between a sprawling outdoor lawn space and a compact weekend brunch patio, and I scale the audio equipment to match the environment. It is completely fine to go small for certain gatherings.
For intimate patio events, tasting rooms, and weekend brunches, I bring a compact, high-end setup that provides great sound without overwhelming your guests' ability to hold a conversation.
If you need volume and raw power - we can certainly bring it - but you really need to understand the limitations of the location.
The music selection changes completely based on the setting, too. You don't program a heavy, late-night, pounding club-style set for a Sunday morning patio brunch, just like you don't play background jazz for a high-energy celebration.
The volume, the bass pressure, and the track selection are always calibrated to the specific space, those in attendance, the time of day, and the local venue limitations.
Feel free to contact us with any questions and we'll help pick the exact sound setup that makes sense for your event — keeping everything great-sounding and professional, and you on good terms with the neighbors.
I have always loved and dreaded this question at the same time.
I grew up listening to everything. My grandparents played opera and accordions around the house — my parents listened to smooth jazz, adult contemporary, soul, and country — and my sisters jammed out to disco and old-school love songs. If it was on the radio anytime since the 70s, I've heard it and probably liked most of it.
I have a strong love for international and classical music of all varieties — and a real soft spot for Irish ballads.
In short, I just like music in almost all forms. And I like entertaining people with the music they love. I play it all. But if I had to declare a real passion for a particular style, it would be electronic dance music — which is another whole story. Feel free to ask me about it.
If I have a weak area, it's tracks that came out yesterday morning. But I can appreciate anything with a great vocal, beat, or groove, no matter when it dropped.
Yes. Absolutely. If you need, want, or require a hype-guy for your event—you've got the wrong guy.
I'm really just about the music and the sound quality.
Sure, I love to do announcements, intros, and walkup songs. But if you're looking for a guy who's going to be jumping around and shouting into a microphone all night telling people to get their hands in the air, you should probably keep shopping.
Even though I take what I do very seriously, I'm still into having fun. I'm just pretty quiet and chill unless someone asks me to make some noise.
Absolutely! That's one of the parts I most enjoy. I maintain a free online music database where you and your guests can go to browse and select music.
It's an evolving project and a labor of love. You might find it helpful for generating playlist ideas. It's free to use.

I bring a completely professional, self-contained sound setup. This includes two premium high-definition RCF PA speakers tailored for crowds of 100+ people, Pioneer DJ decks, a mixer on occasion, and Shure microphones for announcements and toasts.
Everything is wired cleanly behind a professional facade. White or black scrims are available for the speaker stands.I constantly curate high-resolution audio files to ensure the sound quality on your country club patio, corporate hall, or backyard property is as good as it can possibly be.
Popular weekend dates during peak season for corporate gatherings, gala events, and country club functions fill up quickly. I generally recommend reaching out 3 to 6 months in advance to lock down your date on my calendar, though I can sometimes accommodate last-minute celebrations or private gatherings depending on availability.
Yes, and it is a pretty long one. In short, I've worked in audio and broadcasting for more than half of my life.
I was helping a friend build his DJ business. He didn't have a lot of money, so I would buy him equipment and have him pay me back 10% of his gigs. He had just paid off his speakers and picked up a decent controller — and started to book work on a regular basis — when he suddenly fell ill and quickly passed away. It was at that point that I made the decision to honor his memory by picking up the torch and continuing the journey for him.
When I work as a DJ - it will always be in honor of someone. The story is sad and personal - but it is one of the core reasons why I treat every private gathering with such respect and care.
